Bethany Haslam

Bethany Haslam joined CMS as Business Manager in 2025, and became Associate Director in 2026.  Drawing from her experience as an attorney and small business owner, Bethany leads day-to-day operations at CMS including bookkeeping, financial management, operations, office management, and communications.

Bethany earned her Juris Doctor degree from the Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2006, and Bachelors Degrees in Political Science and Communications from Boston College in 2002. Her scholarly journal article, Dancing Around the Issues of Choreography and Copyright, was published in the Quinnipiac Law Review, where she served as Casenote Editor. While studying in Boston, Bethany served as Budget Director for the Boston College Dance Ensemble and interned with Boston Ballet’s Marketing & Public Relations Department.

Prior to joining CMS, Bethany practiced elder and estate planning law with the firm of Tobin, Carberry, O’Malley, Riley & Selinger PC in New London. She is also the founder and director of The Dance Center of Old Lyme, a recreational dance studio offering instruction in a variety of dance styles to children, teens and adults. Each year, she has the pleasure of choreographing Lyme-Old Lyme High School’s winter musical, and teaches adult tap classes at the Old Lyme Senior Center to an incredibly talented and enthusiastic group of dancers.

Bethany is truly grateful for the opportunity to share her love for the arts with the talented students, faculty and staff at CMS!
