Program Details

Each morning, Shari Wilcox presents wonderfully engaging workshops, capitalizing upon her many years of experience in show direction and voice/piano/acting instruction! Whether you’re just beginning your musical theatre journey, or already carry a number of years of experience and are on the cusp of your Broadway career, you’ll find these interactive workshops to be illuminating!

  • Tuesday, 7/6- Module #2 -Musical Read-through ~ score/script
  • Wednesday, 7/7 -Module #3 -Monologue Study
  • Thursday, 7/8- Module #4- Audition Preparation
  • Friday, 7/9 at 7 pm- SPECIAL EVENT #1 – Broadway Bound East Reunion ~
    Disney Sing-along and Guest Performers on zoom

Week #2 “Virtual” Classes from 9:30-11:00 am (Monday-Thursday) on zoom

  • Monday, 7/12 -Module #5 -Introduction to Broadway – The Contemporary Years
  • Tuesday, 7/13 -Module #6 -Overcoming Performance Anxiety
  • Wednesday, 7/14 -Module #7- Acting Songs – sing or lip sync favorite Broadway tunes
  • Thursday, 7/15 -Module #8- Introduction to Stars of the Stage and Screen
  • Friday, 7/16 at 7 pm -SPECIAL EVENT #2 – Broadway Bound East Sing-along, Open Mic Night and guest performers on zoom

Faculty for this Program

Shari Wilcox

Shari Wilcox graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Music Performance Degree in Voice.  As mezzo-soprano, Shari has appeared in opera, operetta, musical theater and as a guest soloist with regional orchestras.  She has performed a variety of roles including the Queen of the Fairies in Gilbert and Sullivan's Iolanthe for which she received a Eugene O'Neill Award.  Ms. Wilcox has acted as Producer, Artistic Director and Stage Director for the highly successful Community Music School's Broadway Bound East Summer Theater Program over the past ten (10) years.  Shari's CMS musicals include the following productions: Beauty and the Beast; Mary Poppins; The Lion King; Shrek; The Little Mermaid; Peter Pan; Aladdin; Seussical and Thoroughly Modern Millie. In addition, Shari directs the CMS Studio 24 Adult Performance Group which performs twice a year.  She is the Music Director/Choir Director at the First Congregational Church in Essex, UCC. Shari teaches Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays in the Spring Semester. Shari teaches Wednesdays in the Summer Session.
