Faculty in Concert!

The incredible professional musicians/teachers of Community Music School will perform a variety of selections (on a variety of instruments and voice) in this free concert for the community featuring music by Mozart (String Quartet No. 4 in C), Beethoven (Serenade for flute, violin, and viola), Rachmaninoff (“Ne Poy Krasavitsa…”), Marcello (Recorder Sonata in F Major), Dring (Trio for flute, oboe, and piano), Gershwin (The Man I Love/Embraceable You), Sara Bareilles (Love Song) and Chick Corea (Armando’s Rumba). The afternoon concludes with 16 faculty members performing a Bernstein/Sondheim Tribute, a fantastic new musical arrangement created by CMS Music Director Tom Briggs. You won’t want to miss this incredible concert that always fills up!
Featured performers include voice faculty members Cynthia Eggers and Christa Steiner, guitarists Kevin O’Neil and Bob Nasta, bassist Matt McCauley, pianists Audrey Estelle, EunYoung Lee, Patrice Newman, and Jon Thomas, violist Emily Muller, violinists Brenna Cox and Martha Herrle, cellist Tom Hudson, oboist Ling-Fei Kang, and recorder/flutist Helene Rosenblatt. The afternoon concludes with 15 faculty members performing a Bernstein/Sondheim Tribute, a fantastic new musical arrangement created by CMS Music Director Tom Briggs. You won’t want to miss this incredible concert that always fills up!
