Music Lessons in Centerbrook, CT

Gwen Pond

GWEN STENGEL POND earned her BA in English from the University of Connecticut, her ARC (Alternate Route to Certification) Certificate in K-12 Music from the State of Connecticut, and her LTA (Library Technology Certificate) from Three Rivers Community College. Gwen has combined her love of music, technology, and libraries by teaching early childhood music classes, participating in community music programs, and working as an electronic resource coordinator at the University of Hartford Harrison Libraries.

She has taught K-3 music in Stonington, early childhood music classes at Green Street Arts Center in Middletown, Music Blossoms in Old Saybrook, and is excited to now be teaching Music Together® at Community Music School. She has also enjoyed directing children’s musicals, a youth choir, and a children’s bell choir at her churches over the years. More recently, she can be found singing with the shoreline chorale, Con Brio; in Shari Wilcox’s Studio 24 Class here at CMS; and in Artful Living’s “Music Man” as Alma, one of the pick-a-little ladies. She is married with two teenagers, one whom has studied voice here at CMS also with Shari, 2 cats, and one dog named affectionately after her second favorite muppet, Fozzie.

Gwen teaches Music Together® classes on Wednesday mornings.
