Born and raised in New England, guitarist Nicholas Ford has appeared as both a soloist and a chamber musician. As a soloist, Mr. Ford has presented regular concerts including various faculty recitals, and has appeared frequently playing for and with the Connecticut Guitar Guild. As a chamber musician, he has performed repertoire for guitar quartet, guitar trio, flute and guitar, voice and guitar, and guitar with multi-percussion. Outside of the classical world, Mr. Ford has been an active member of the musical theater scene in New England since 2017, playing electric guitar, bass, banjo, and ukulele for a variety of shows. Additionally, Mr. Ford regularly appears as a freelance musician playing for bands, church services, and any other situations that call for guitar. Mr. Ford received 1st place in the Artist of the Year competition through the Great Composers Competition Series in 2025 and an honorable mention in the ENKOR International Competition, also in 2025. Mr. Ford holds a B.A. in Music from Eastern Connecticut State University and is currently pursuing a Masters in Guitar Performance at The Hartt School. Along with performing, Mr. Ford has been teaching guitar, ukulele, bass, and banjo at a number of studios in Connecticut since January of 2023, including The Hartt School Community Division. This teaching not only includes private one-on-one lessons but group lessons, summer music camps and lectures as well. In his freetime, Mr. Ford likes to watch sitcoms, play with his cat, Socks, and get outside as much as he can.
