Nick Zavaglia is an active working guitarist from Milford, CT who, after a childhood of listening to and playing rock and heavy metal, took his playing to the next level. He studied jazz guitar with renowned music educators Doug Maher and Chris Morrison at University of Connecticut, participated in ensembles led by Earl MacDonald, John Mastroianni, and Steven Bulmer, and received his bachelor’s degree in February 2023.
Combining the sophistication of Allan Holdsworth and Joe DiOrio with the tasteful playing of Gary Moore, Nick has proven himself to be a versatile guitarist capable of playing in many different musical settings, including jazz, rock, and musical theater. He has performed for various regional theaters in CT, including the Ivoryton Playhouse, the Goodspeed Opera House, the Mac-Haydn Theatre, and the Kweskin Theatre, among many other local theaters, colleges, and school districts. He has also performed on club dates and at bars throughout the Northeast.
Nick is an experienced teacher of acoustic and electric guitar, in almost any musical style (jazz, folk, rock), and for most ages.
Nick teaches on Saturday mornings.
