Pam Allen Hunter has enjoyed a long career in music management, teaching and performance. Pam has a B.A. in Music from the University of Colorado and a Master’s degree in Arts Administration from New York University.
She is currently Co-Principal Flute of the Civic Orchestra of New Haven, and has performed with that ensemble for over twenty years. She was a Flute Instructor for CMS from 2001 to 2013 and is delighted to return in 2026.
From 1997 to 2015, Pam was the Administrative Director of Musical Masterworks, a chamber music series based in Old Lyme. In 2016 she moved to Rhode Island, where she performed with the Narragansett Bay Symphony, the Ocean State Pops Orchestra, and several other ensembles. While living in RI, Pam served as Executive Director of Making Music Matters in Boston and the Kingston (RI) Chamber Music Festival.
Early in her career, she worked in the marketing department at Carnegie Hall. Pam has studied with many wonderful flutists, most notably Jean-Pierre Rampal and Albert Tipton.
Pam teaches Mondays & Tuesdays at CMS.
