Luisa Wilson

Luisa Wilson holds a Masters Degree in Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. Her major teachers include Paul Ingraham and Michael Hatfield. She has taught at the Manhattan School of Music Preparatory Division as well as the Community Music School. Her brass and woodwind quintets have enjoyed residencies at St. John the Divine in New York City as well as the Center Church in Hartford, Connecticut.

Luisa has been principal horn of the National Orchestral Association, New Amsterdam Symphony, Rondo Chamber Orchestra, Manhattan Chamber Orchestra, Manhattan Baroque Orchestra, among others. She has recorded on the Newport Classic label. Currently, Luisa performs with many area orchestras and opera companies including the New Britain Symphony, The Salt Marsh Opera, and the Opera Theatre of Connecticut among others.

In addition to teaching at CMS, Luisa teaches music at Essex Elementary School. She and her husband, Jay (also a horn player and music educator) enjoy performing in the Connecticut area. Some of their favorite activities involve spending time with family and friends, working in their garden, and cooking.
