For a truly unique experience, Director Joni Gage is offering a new musical theatre program just for ages eight to twelve. The final performance will be a selection of songs and scenes from School of Rock to take the students’ singing and acting skills to the next level. This is a great option for those in-between ages looking to move out of programs geared for younger children and into more robust theatrical productions. This program is intentionally offered early in the summer prior to our Broadway Bound programs for students looking to give their acting and singing skills a boost before they join the big kids!

In addition to their work on School of Rock, students will learn important musical theatre skills to take with them in their future theatrical pursuits. This program will include workshops on audition skills, preparation tips, and so much more. Each student will complete the program with a fully prepared audition piece and all the skills to nail their next audition!

Given the status of the COVID-19 pandemic in CT,  “Drama Kids” and the production of “School of Rock” (directed by Joni Gage) has been re-scheduled to the fall.   Rehearsals are currently planned to begin in late Sept (once per week after school for an hour), with a performance in late November.  Any registration questions can be directed to CMS Program Coordinator Elizabeth Carl at ecarl@cmsct.org or (860) 767-0026.
